An established aerospace and defense organization has an exciting opportunity for a Project Scheduler to join its team. The Project Scheduler will work with engineering teams to prepare schedule data for programs projects proposals and contract negotiations. This role involves integrating schedules establishing workflows identifying risks developing recovery plans and evaluating subcontractor schedules for improvements. Youll play a key role in keeping projects on track and providing Program Management with insights using Earned Value techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare schedule data for programs projects proposals and contract negotiations.
- Establish and maintain schedules for assigned discipline areas or specialties.
- Develop work breakdown structures (WBS) determine activity durations and establish workflow logic.
- Monitor schedules identify critical activities and update project data.
- Generate critical path reports and performance metrics.
- Identify and communicate activities with potential or critical impact.
- Review and validate subcontractor schedules recommending improvements or workarounds.
- Present schedule information in internal and external meetings.
- Support interdisciplinary requirements across engineering and program teams.
- Occasional business travel required.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Engineering or related field.
- 3 years of project scheduling experience (aerospace or defense preferred).
- PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) or PMI Earned Value Management Professional (PMI-EVMP) certification is a plus.
- Background in planning scheduling monitoring and analysis for complex programs.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project (or similar) and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong knowledge of engineering procurement contracts and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible and adaptable with the ability to respond to urgent requests and shifting priorities.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
