Job Description

Spotsylvania County Public schools is seeking aParaeducatorto provide instructional support to students alongside classroom teachers and school administrators with a focus on enhancing academic achievement in alignment with Title I program goals. This role supports instructional strategies reinforces learning and assists with classroom management to ensure all students have equitable access to quality instruction while collaborating with teachers to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

*Special note:This is a one-year position that will conclude at the end of the school year.*

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assists students with the organization and completion of daily work assignments
  • Assists with evaluating and testing students
  • Works with small groups of students in various subject areas
  • Follows established procedures for monitoring student behavior when supervising small or large groups
  • Monitors students whereabouts and observe student safety
  • Performs routine clerical duties such as copying typing answering/making telephone calls and basic troubleshooting
  • Performs additional non-instructional duties including but not limited to cafeteria duty bus duty hall duty and office duty
