SALARY: up to $16per hour
POSITION SUMMARY:
The custodian will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of VPA buildings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This list represents the types of duties required by the position. Other duties may be assigned as
reasonably expected.
Assists with event clean up and coordination of same
Scrubs and washes floors walls and windows
Responsible for vacuuming carpets dusting emptying trash and cleaning all offices door glass windows and halls
Responsible for cleaning all restrooms
Responsible for spot cleaning carpets on a regular basis
Inspects the premises for cleaning needs and performs work as assigned
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or equivalent required
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY:
Basic knowledge of cleaning supplies contents contained and proper use of cleaning supplies
Ability to learn routine tasks quickly and to follow oral and written instructions
Ability to maintain and keep the facility clean and orderly
Ability to maintain an appropriate public appearance
Ability to analyze situations and/or problems that may arise and to provide remedies within a timely manner
Maintain a positive attitude under all conditions
Ability to be a team player and work towards the goals of the group/facility
Ability to prioritize
Must have good listening skills attention to detail sense of humor persistence and multi-tasking skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple and advanced instructions and in-house memos.
Ability to provide excellent customer service which includes the ability to remain calm professional and respectful with staff and guests
Ability to perform basic addition subtraction and arithmetic
Must be able to work productively with minimal supervision
CERTIFICATES LICENCE REGISTRATION:
Valid Indiana Drivers License
EQUIPMENT:
Mop broom sweeper duster window washing equipment vacuum cleaner and trash barrels
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance stoop or kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required in this job include vision and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in office settings with moderate inside temperatures. Work is also performed in various areas of the complex and as well within the community. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate in the office. The entire office is smoke free.
