DescriptionAs a Chemical/Container Preparation Assistant you will enjoy working with a collaborative high-energy quality focused a member of thePreparation & Processing Team you will support theclinical and development laboratories by:
- Preparing reagents
- Performing quality checks of laboratory water and containers
- Performing pipette validation
- Prioritizing scheduling and delivery of containers
- Washing and sterilizinglaboratory glassware and equipment that are contaminated with biological waste
- Picking-up and returning of processed items to laboratories using carts to move glassware throughout the building and to other locations on campus
- Decontaminating biological waste for the department
Extensive on-the-job training will be provided to you.
*Individuals hired to this position are required to complete 2 years in this position before becoming eligible to transfer to other positions within Mayo Clinic.
**This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship; Also Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
Qualifications- Associate degree OR High School Diploma/GED AND two years of work experience including clinical laboratory and/or other relevant work experience.
Additional Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Biology Chemistry or Business Administration is preferred.
- Ability to collaborate with a team for problem resolution.
- Ability to maintain a high level of quality and accuracy.
- Flexibility
- Comfortable working with chemical and biohazardous materials.
