Overview
We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and shipfitting with the ability to work with various materials and tools. This role is crucial for ensuring that components are accurately assembled and welded to meet our high-quality standards.
Duties
- Perform welding tasks using various techniques including SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding-Stick) and FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) to fabricate and assemble metal structures and components.
- Read and interpret blueprints technical drawings and specifications to determine the appropriate welding processes.
- Utilize tools such as calipers and other measuring devices to ensure precise dimensions during fabrication.
- Use cutting torch to crop and renew damaged or worn material.
- Conduct inspections of welds and fabricated parts to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve welding and fitting processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in welding and shipfitting in marine repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to fabricate and assemble metal components effectively.
- Familiarity with marine repair.
- Ability to operate in a safe and efficient manner.
- Competence in using measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers for accurate assessments.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
