Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for early career Tool Engineers to join our Fabrication Division in Auburn WA and Frederickson WA.

A successful candidate in this role will have passion creativity and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. They will also have a strong desire to be out on the production floor interacting with mechanics safety and tool makers and directly supporting the production Production Engineering we need highly responsible professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of safety quality and integrity.

This position is a Production Engineering role and requires direct interfacing with the people and equipment on the production floor. A typical day could include:

  • Spending up to 8 hours on feet standing/walking on the production floor
  • Climbing ladders or stairs to access equipment
  • Working at heights or in tight spaces
  • Wearing required PPE

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Entry and Associate Engineers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design analyze and modify aerospace manufacturing equipment and tooling to meet stakeholder requirements
  • Create fully developed tool drawings to include all applicable dimensions notes and bill of materials
  • Conduct all applicable design reviews with stakeholders
  • Perform tool liaison activities to support tool fabrication activities and production use

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Entry Level: Bachelors degree from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry
  • Associate Level: Bachelors degree and typically 2 or more years related engineering work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Masters degree)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and experience with CATIA V5 or similar 3D design software
  • Knowledge of and experience with basic tool drawing layout including incorporation of GD&T
  • Knowledge of and experience with software such as Visual Basic and Python for task automation
  • Knowledge of and experience with tool automation

Summary pay range for Entry Level (Level 1): $66300 - $89700

Summary pay range for Associate Level (Level 2): $81600 - $110400
