Overview

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a 9 bed Level II unit that cares for infants 32 weeks gestation and over with special needs including mechanical ventilation. We have private rooms that allow parents to stay with their infants following discharge.

Responsibilities

As our NICU Nurse at St. Francis Medical Center youll monitor the complex medical needs of sick and preterm infants. Youll provide compassionate care serving as their advocate; supporting their best interests when they cannot.

  • Monitor patients conditions and assess their needs.
  • Educate parents on various interventions or procedures medications (name and purpose) exams etc.
  • Assess newborns and provide care.
  • Communicate with the care management team.
  • Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families.

Compensation: Base rate shift differential

Incentives:up to $10000 sign on bonus up to $10000 education assistance (must have graduated within 5 years)

Nurse Residency offered for all New Graduates

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accrediated nursing program
  • Active RN licensure in the state of Nebraska.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 5 months of hire.
