Job Description
Title: Respiratory Therapist
Location: Syracuse NY 13210
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM 7:00 AM)
Preferences: Candidates must have pediatric experience.
Important Notes:
Block scheduling is not accommodated
Candidates cannot work two assignments simultaneously
Qualifications:
Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Respiratory Therapy
Active NYS license/registration as a Respiratory Therapist
Minimum of 2 years post-A.A.S. degree clinical acute care experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance
Duties:
Administer positive pressure and aerosol therapy to patients
Institute and monitor oxygen therapy
Assist physicians in initiating and maintaining continuous ventilation
Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) when needed
Perform pulmonary function tests
Conduct radial arterial punctures
Deliver the majority of patient care functions in an acute care setting with minimal orientation and supervision
Skills Required:
Experience in the field: At least 1 year
Ability to perform acute care respiratory therapy functions with confidence and minimal supervision
Strong clinical judgment and patient-care skills
