Job Summary and Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Worker I to join our team. The Environmental Services Worker I will be responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment in our healthcare facility which is essential to ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients staff and visitors. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently and as part of a team to ensure that all areas of the facility are clean and well-maintained.
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms common areas and other areas of the facility
- Follow established cleaning and disinfection protocols and procedures
- Collect and dispose of biohazardous waste and linens
- Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms and common areas
- Respond to requests for cleaning services from healthcare staff
- You may operate heavy-duty equipment and use special cleaning equipment.
Job Requirements
- High School GED - General Studies
- Previous hospital or other institutional environmental service experience preferred
- Ability to operate necessary equipment/machines.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the public (employees vendors patients volunteers physicians etc.) and with peers.
This position is represented by CHEU and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
