What does a successful Software Development Engineering Professional I doAt Fiserv we are dedicated to transforming financial services technology to benefit our clients. As a Software Development Engineering - Professional I you will play a critical role in designing developing and maintaining high-quality software applications. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that align with our business goals and client needs.

What you will do:

• Design develop and implement software applications to support Fiservs business goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Perform coding testing and debugging of applications to ensure optimal performance.
• Maintain and improve existing codebases and peer review code changes.
• Adapt and evolve responsibilities as required to meet project demands and align with organizational objectives.

What you will need to have:

• Proficient in Progress OpenEdge technologies such as AppBuilder Data Dictionary SmartObjects and ABL (Advanced Business Language).
• 3 years of experience in software development.
• 1 years of experience in Java C C# C or similar programming languages.
• 1 years of experience in SQL databases.
• 1 years of experience in AWS Azure or GCP services.
• 1 years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• 1 years of experience with Agile methodologies.
• 3 years of an equivalent combination of educational background related experience and/or military experience.

What would be great to have:

• 3 years of experience in the financial services industry.
• 3 years of experience with microservices architecture.
• 3 years of experience with containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
• 3 years of experience with performance tuning and optimization.
• Open Edge REST Services API experience a Plus

Important information about this role:

• This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
• In order to be considered you must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without need for sponsorship now or in the future. You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for any visa sponsorship including OPT STEM F1 or H1b both now and in the future.
• This is a full-time direct-hire position and no contract options for unsolicited agency submissions will be considered.
