Role: Duties and Resourcing Team Duty Planner

Department: Operational Support Unit

Location:Operations Complex Letsby Avenue Sheffield

Salary: 24222 - 26106

Hours: 37

Contract Type: Temporary for 12 months

We are looking for a Duties and Resourcing Team Duty Planner to join a motivated and dynamic team managing resourcing levels throughout the force.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing a customer-focused service to Police & Police Staff
  • Collating reviewing and analysing data using Duties Desktop GRS and Microsoft applications
  • Producing reports on relevant data
  • Maintaining the force duties data and hierarchy in order to reflect any restructuring and changes
  • Circulating and publishing duties information to staff and informing staff of changes to rosters
  • Acting as a single point of contact for a specific force area and maintain regular meetings with department heads and district commanders
  • Preparing rosters for operations and special events as required by the Force
  • Providing specialist advice and knowledge
  • Identifying risks to the force that may affect ability to provide business as usual now and in the future

Skills and experience:

  • Proven ability in windows-based computer packages and manual record keeping.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in order to speak with people of all levels especially when allocating overtime.
  • Experience of achieving targets and working towards service level agreements and deadlines.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail with a consistent & methodical approach to tasks.
  • Mathematical approach to extracting data.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.

This role is offered on a fixed-term basis in accordance with applicable employment legislation and South Yorkshire Police policy.

Fixed-term contracts are used where there is a genuine business need such as project-based work temporary cover or time-limited funding. The fixed term period is subject to change linked to the posts requirements and may be subject to extension or early termination in line with appropriate notice period.
