Join a fast-growing listed company with a purpose! Fastned owns and operates a network of 300 fast charging stations across Europe allowing electric vehicle drivers to charge their cars with 100% green energy in just 15 minutes. Our goal is a European network of 1000 fast charging stations in prime locations where all-electric vehicles can charge with renewable energy from the sun and wind. Your Role:
We are looking for an experienced React Native App Developer (freelance) to join our product development team and help build high-quality customer-facing applications that deliver WOW at every journey touchpoint. Youll work closely with a cross-functional Scrum team including designers backend engineers and QA to create best-in-class mobile experiences for EV drivers.
Youll contribute to both the Fastned mobile app and in-car applications with a focus on performance usability and delightful design. This role requires hands-on coding problem-solving and working without Expo as our apps are built entirely in React Native with native components.
Your overall responsibilities include:
Develop test and review code for Fastneds React Native applications.
Implement cross-platform mobile features with both React Native and native Android/iOS integrations.
Transform complex Figma designs into functional polished UI components.
Refine feature requirements with the team to deliver high-impact solutions.
Improve product usability and contribute to our design system
Participate in scrum ceremonies and contribute to tech decision making
Job requirements
Who we are looking for
Minimum 3 years of experience with React Native.
Proficient in Next JS React and Typescript.
Skilled in cross-platform mobile development using React Native including native modules and APIs.
Ability to take complex designs from Figma and make the corresponding UI components.
Experience with React Query.
Familiarity with iOS Store and Google Play Store distribution.
Know-how with CI/CD tools such as Bitrise.
Experience with Jest for testing.
Experience with native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) and Android (Kotlin/Java) development
Strong analytical detail-oriented and organized.
Problem-solver innovative in finding and guiding development solutions.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Team player with a collaborative mindset.
Familiar with Agile methodologies and Scrum framework.
Interested in the energy transition and Fastneds mission.
Nice-to-haves:
Experience with Maestro testing.
An app link from Google Play or Apple Store showcasing your work.
Experience with Apple Car Play/Android Auto development.
Contract Details
Start: ASAP
Duration: 6 months with possibility of extension
Location: Amsterdam (hybrid working)
