NEEDED: Nurse Practitioner
LOCATION: 9300 S. Wilmot Rd. Tucson AZ 85756
SCHEDULE: Monday Friday 6:00 AM 4:00 PM 8 hours per day 40 hours per week
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Shall have a current license and must be eligible for board certification in their chosen field of expertise that permits him/her to practice and to perform services in the State of Arizona for the duration of the contract.
- Must have obtained a graduate degree from an accredited University with a degree in Family Nurse Practitioner or Physicians Assistant Studies.
- A copy of post graduate training primary source verified
- A copy of NCCPA board certification (where applicable)
- A copy of continuing education for the last 3 years shall be submitted with current CV.
JOB DUTIES: shall be responsible for but is not limited to:
- Provide diagnostic therapeutic and preventive health care services for the inmate population.
- Conduct medical histories examine patients order and interpret laboratory tests x-ray and other diagnostic testing.
- Diagnosis and treat patients in an efficient timely and professional manner provide treatment plans and prescribe medications utilizing the Bureau of Prisons formulary.
- Clinically manage injuries by suturing splinting and immobilizing
- Attend to medical emergencies.
- Record progress notes recommend clinically necessary outside consultation instruct and counsel and order or carry out therapy.
- Emergency consultation to be performed in instances where deemed necessary.
- Perform minor surgery utilizing local anesthesia during consultation visits. Work collaboratively with the staff physician(s) and consulting physician(s) in planning instituting evaluating and revising program plans.
- Assists in determining conditions resources and policies essential to delivery of health care services.
- Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical emotional or mental problems.
- Manages the daily operation of the clinic and conducts daily sick call which may include securing health histories from the patient recording findings and providing clinical evaluations
- Perform new intakes
- Provides a wide range of emergency services in the absence of the physician
