Job Summary
Were looking for a Quality Engineer to support our manufacturing quality this hands-on role youll perform dimensional inspections using laser tracker and scanner systems on machined structural weldments for the worlds largest mining shovels. You will also conduct audits of the quality management system analyze quality data and help ensure materials processes and products meet company and customer standards. Youll also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and digital tools that enhance quality performance.
What You Will Do:
Conduct measurement system analysis and track non-conformance data.
Maintain quality documentation and support internal/external audits.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Develop digital tools (e.g. Power BI dashboards) and generate monthly KPI reports.
Support continuous improvement projects and process optimization efforts.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Experience with SAP for routing reviews inspection planning and scrap coordination.
Practical knowledge of Gage R & R and ability to coordinate calibration of tools such as Hytorc torque tools laser trackers laser scanner Romer Arms and GMMs.
Proficiency in laser tracker and Romer arm inspections including program creation and PPAP documentation.
Ability to support inspection teams with print interpretation inspection methods and training.
Hands-on experience with CI cards fixture design 5S events and ergonomic improvements.
Bachelors degree in engineering or a related technical field (preferred).

Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches tools techniques for recognizing anticipating and resolving organizational operational or process problems; ability to apply
Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Knowledge of the concepts principles and techniques of root cause analysis; ability to use a structured approach to identify the causes of undesirable consequences in a manufacturing environment and the changes needed to prevent recurrences.

Summary Pay Range:
$87480.00 - $131280.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market locationjob-related knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
