Position Purpose:

Responds to ambulance calls and provides patient care. Performs vehicle maintenance and assists in the Emergency Room.

What you will Do:

• Provides patient care.
• Maintains positive public image.
• Performs vehicle maintenance: Checks vehicles and performs maintenance or reports to head mechanic.
• Provides documentation on patient care after each ambulance call and in ER as needed.
• Transports sick or injured persons to hospital or convalescents to destination avoiding sudden motions detrimental to patients.
• Adheres to all safety infection control and colleague health policies and procedures.

Hours/Schedule:

.001 FTE; PRN/registry; requires weekend and holiday rotation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Certified Iowa EMT
• Valid IA Class C drivers license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
• BLS Mandatory Reporter. (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (NVCI) within 6 months of hire.)
• Requires the ability to read write and understand the English language and communicate effectively with patients visitors staff and physicians while performing their job duties.
• Intermediate language intermediate math high reasoning ability.
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people; ability to work under pressure. Must pass pre-hire physical agility test. Ability to take direction.
