Job Scope
Join our Hardware Design Team as a co-op to accelerate a C-based encoder model. You will use AVX SSE and SIMD techniques to significantly boost performance and analysis throughput - driving faster and higher quality results for hardware development.
Responsibilities
- Profile refactor and optimize C encoder code using AVX/ SSE/ SIMD
- Build and maintain a self-verification SW environment for result checking
- Clearly document code changes optimization strategies and test outcomes
- Collaborate onsite with hardware and software teams to meet performance goals
- Communicate technical findings clearly and regularly
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering Computer Science or a related field
- Strong C programming and debugging skills
- Experience or coursework with SIMD instructions (AVX/ SSE)
- Detail-oriented analytical and thorough in documentation
- Proactive communicator and effective team contributor
- Must work onsite; full work term commitment required
Preferred skills
- Familiarity with performance profiling tools
- Knowledge of scripting (e.g. Python Bash)
- Exposure to version control system (e.g. Git)
