Salary:Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience)
Working Hours:Flexible hours available including compressed shifts; service may operate until 9pm
We are currently seeking a Band 7 Locum Podiatrist to join a GP-based diabetes service in South Eastern Essex. This is a 3-month trial position with the potential to extend pending final funding approval. The role involves managing high-risk patients with lower limb complications primarily within a diabetic hub setting.
You will work independently receiving referrals directly from GPs with access to medical support when needed. The role also includes participation in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and discussions. This is a fantastic opportunity for a podiatrist with strong clinical skills and a passion for diabetic foot care to make a meaningful impact in a community-focused service.
In this role you will:
Manage high-risk diabetic patients with lower limb complications.
Work independently while collaborating with GPs and other healthcare professionals.
Receive and triage referrals from GP practices.
Participate in MDT meetings and contribute to holistic patient care planning.
Provide expert podiatric assessments and interventions.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with professional standards.
To be considered for this role you must have:
A Bachelors degree in Podiatry (required).
A Masters degree in Podiatry (highly desirable).
HCPC registration.
Significant experience in diabetic foot care and high-risk patient management.
Excellent clinical reasoning and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and flexibly within a GP setting.
