We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Hygienist with 1 to 3 years of hands on clinical experience to join our team Spanish Bilingual highly preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform dental hygiene services and procedures including dental prophylaxis scaling fluoride and sealants and root planning
- Removing soft and hard deposits and extrinsic stains from teeth using hand instruments Piezo ultrasonic scalerinserts and prophy handpieces.
- Take X-rays
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of maintaining good dental health.
- Document patient care and treatment plans accurately in the electronic health record system
- Collaborate with dentists to provide comprehensive care including pediatric dentistry when necessary.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness before submitting for medical coding.
- Maintain accurate up to date patient records in compliance with FQHC and regulatory standards
- Participate in community outreach and dental health education initiatives to promote preventive care and empower patients to make informed oral health decisions
- Adhere to organizational protocols including Open Door policies and procedures
- Maintain a high level of organization and time management in a fast-paced clinical environment
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree in Dental Hygiene from an approved school of dental hygiene.
- Registered dental hygienist in New York State
- Maintains continuing education credits in accordance with New York State Regulations
- Minimum of one to three years experience as a dental hygienist
- Thorough knowledge and practice of quality dental hygienist practices
