Purpose of Position

This is a part-time non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Assistant PI in performing numerical simulations to study the plasma behavior in Langmuir probe and other low-temperature plasma applications using kineti based particle-in-cell method.

Duties & Responsibilities

Learn high performance computing environment Linux operating system and numerical methods and simulation workflows needed for the research work
Prepare and set up simulation including geometry and mesh generation
Perform numerical simulations using in-house developed computer code
Process simulation results create a research report and write research papers for publication.

Minimum Requirements

Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering Electrical Engineering or Computer Science student;
Good CAD skills
Familiar with Python or C programming language
Relevant coursework in Fluid Mechanics Mathematics and Computer Science.
Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
