$25.54 per hour per MGTTA Master Agreement

TITLE: COMPUTER TECHNICIAN

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must possess CompTIA A Certification.
  2. Minimum one year of employment experience in the computer repair field along with Windows 10 and Active Directory experience preferred.
  3. Knowledge of varying technologies including: laptops desktops Chromebooks phones interactive flat panels wireless access points cameras and classroom amplification systems.
  4. Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on prioritization meeting deadlines providing details and following-up
  5. Excellent customer service and written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to others and conduct training.
  7. Must have valid drivers license.
  8. Must be able to lift 25lbs. and climb a ladder.
  9. Successful completion of hands-on repair examination.
  10. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO: IT Manager

JOB GOAL: To provide technical assistance and support in the setup operation and repair of technology equipment.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Diagnose and resolve end user problems/questions in the area of hardware applications connectivity and operating systems support.
  2. Configure and deploy device setups and reimaging by using RCSs standard device images and software.
  3. Responsible for the repair and maintenance of District technology.
  4. Troubleshoot system problems concerning LAN & WAN components.
  5. Coordinate with Technician Assistants to help maintain technology.
  6. Provide excellent Level 2 end user support and customer service via phone remote control and monitoring tools and in-person.
  7. Escalate complex problems to next level of support after detailed troubleshooting has been completed.
  8. Maintain accurate timely work order records in tracking applications.
  9. Prepare and maintain procedural guidelines and documentation for District technology w/direction from IT Manager.
  10. Monitor system resources and activities for optimal operation and performance.
  11. Provide technical assistance and support to building administrators and staff in the set-up and use of technology.
  12. Complete and maintain necessary certification exam(s) for district approved hardware vendor(s).
  13. Performs other related work as assigned by technology administrators and the Executive Director of Technology and Strategic Initiatives.
