We currently have anexciting opportunityas aBuyer-12 Months contract. This role is based in our Langley BC Plant and reports to the Purchasing Lead.

The incumbent will work with a proactive approach and respond to the needs for procurement of goods and services required to support optimize productivity and cost savings at our Langley BC Plant.
Principal Responsibilities
Be responsible for the purchasing of all Indirect goods and services required to support plant operations these sites including commodities such as Industrial Safety & Janitorial supplies Services etc.
Active in Supplier Selection & Rationalization and Inventory Management
Negotiate pricing and Supply Agreements on selected items while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Work closely with Strategic Sourcing on cost reduction initiatives to reduce facility budget spend
Implement solid purchasing practices as per team initiatives.
Implement VMI / Min-Max processes to manage inventory levels to ensure that location has necessary materials to run the day-to-day operations.
Standardize site purchases throughout both facilities
Support of 5S and Lean Manufacturing activities.
Skills & Experience
2 - 3 years proven purchasing experience
Work experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred
SCMP / CPM accreditation an asset
Excellent teamwork skills
Well-developed organization and prioritization skills
Intermediate/Expert knowledge of Excel/Microsoft Office.
