Job Description
Randal Retail Group is a retail fixture manufacturer and due to continuing growth in our business were looking for a junior position in our engineering department. This position will provide engineering support for all phases of our product manufacturing process.
A strong desire to learn is very important; were constantly evolving as a company and we design and manufacture unique fixtures with a fantastic culture and amazing team of people. Experience with CNC routers would be helpful. Problem-solving and the ability to work autonomously and also as a team is critical. Responsibilities:
- Create and edit 2D and 3D product drawings and layouts using AutoCAD
- Collaborate and coordinate with project managers to resolve discrepancies and complete projects
- Design and engineer complex fixtures utilizing custom hardware and different materials
- Review drawings to ensure adherence to established standards
- Make and review shop drawings for manufacturing
- Produce machine code from product drawings
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Drafting and Design is preferred but will consider relevant experience in lieu of degree
- Resourceful engineering savvy able to quickly contort to new guidelines and be open to new points of view new information and new ideas
Must be a team player/work well with others
Proficient in 3D AutoCAD
Microvellum software knowledge is a plus
Ability to visualize concepts and articulate ideas well
Must be able to read and process measurements blueprints directions instructions and manuals etc.
Very good organization skills
Experience in a similar field such as cabinetry or millwork.
