Req #:3920 (3016) Salary:$65000 $86000 Anticipated Contract Length:1 year with potential for extension Project Overview: Craig Technologies is the Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) partner on the Bechtel and Northrop Grumman team to deliver the Sentinel Program which is modernizing the ground-based leg of the U.S. nuclear deterrent triad including intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) systems and launch infrastructure. Bechtels scope of service in Sentinels current Engineering & Manufacturing Development phase focuses on the ground infrastructure component of the program. A major contractor for the United States and allied governments Bechtel has handled such efforts as chemical weapons demilitarization projects missile-defense infrastructure base operations procurement and project management and restoration and recovery spanning half a century. Job Summary: This position is for an Electrical Engineer who will prepare electrical design drawings for construction supporting calculations and equipment/commodity specifications for Electrical systems associated with the DOD Sentinel project sites. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills proven problem-solving abilities can-do attitude and the desire to innovate designs. #LI-SNH
Major Responsibilities: This role will support design documentation development of Electrical systems and equipment for the Sentinel program project by preparing studies drawings calculations specifications data sheets and evaluations in accordance with applicable procedures codes standards and contract requirements. Additional responsibilities include (but not limited to): Work under the direction of senior engineers/designers to develop design products. Reviews client requirements and incorporates them into a design product Coordinates the reviews of deliverables between the client as well as other engineering disciplines/functions. Reviews and resolves comments/feedback on the deliverables Ensures electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes regulations and standards such as the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) Reviews and checks design deliverables for quality accuracy neatness functionality and satisfactory completion Travel to project locations as required. Assists in the development of electrical design deliverables such as but not limited to: Single line drawings Panel schedule drawings Schematics Cable block diagrams Electrical system calculations Lightning protection design Cathodic protection design Bill of materials/material take offs Equipment sizing calculations Equipment specifications for purchasing installing operating
Education and Experience Requirements: Level I Requires a University Hire with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering with less than 1 year of relevant work experience. Level II Requires a University Hire with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering with 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills: Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Ability to utilize office automation tools effectively. Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides codes and standards Knowledge of electrical systems schematics and layouts. Ability to execute work independently. Possess active security clearance Prior experience working with government agencies preferably the Department of Defense MS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. Knowledge of power systems load modeling and analysis tools such as ETAP. Prior work experience in multi-project environment and demonstrated flexibility in work assignments. Understanding of engineering drawings systems calculations equipment sizing and cable sizing. Passed Engineering in Training/Fundamentals of Engineering Examination in USA (Electrical Engineering). Hands-on experience using AutoCAD. The salary range for this role is $65000 $86000; however Craig Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer for employment including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience education/training and preferred skills and knowledge.
