Job Summary

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is looking for a Locum OB/GYN Hospitalist to start on December 24 2025!!

Schedule:

Start date: December 24 2025
Patient Contact Hours: 7a-7a
Shift length: 24 hours (required)
NOTE: physicians can not work more than two 24-hour shifts in a row
On Call: 24/7 (in house call. call rooms are available.)

Inpatient: Yes at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center
The facility is not accepting providers local to the Des Moines area.
Telehealth: No
Supervision of APPs expected: No
Number of exam rooms per provider: 8 bed OBED
Medical Imaging: Yes
Lab & Pharmacy: Yes
Clinic provider daily volume: 1389 visits to OBED per year roughly 463 result in deliveries
MFM will be on call. There are residents but the OB Hospitalist will not be in charge of them.
No GYN responsibilities
EMR: Epic

Job Responsibilities:

OBED patients
emergent patients (vaginal deliveries and C-sections)
patients without primary OBGYN
only maternity transport team in Iowa

Bill Rates needed for Submission:

Malpractice (must be included in the rates)
Orientation
Hourly
Holiday Hourly
Overtime
Holiday Overtime
Conversion fee ($25k rate cap)

Requirement description :

Board Certified - REQUIRED (can accept truly board eligible candidates)
Active IA License (STRONGLY preferred) or Active IMLC - REQUIRED (please upload LOQ at time of name clear)
Provider must be able to start December 24 2025 - REQUIRED
Clean Malpractice/Background - REQUIRED
Provider cannot be local to Des Moines area - REQUIRED
