Details:
COBOL Vantage Programmer
Location: Remote
Duration: Long-term contract
Key Skills:
- COBOL Vantage mainframe programming
- Annuity processing experience
- Debugging and optimizing legacy mainframe applications
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Qualifications
- 4 years of Vantage / WMA.
- 4 years with Cobol JCL Db2
- Experience with Vantage one /WMA Annuities
Responsibilities
- Experience working UL/ TRAD/ Annuities wmA (Wealth Management Advisor Vantage-One which are large Life and Annuity Insurance Policy Administrative Systems.
- Essential Job Functions Modifications of Annuities
- 5 years of Vantage / WMA experience.
- 5 years with Cobol JCL Db2
- Provides input into developing and modifying systems to meet client needs and develops business specifications to support these modifications.
- Assists in coordinating business analyst tasks on information technology projects and provides support to other team members.
- Assists in analyzing testing results in all phases.
- Participates in technical reviews and inspections to verify intent of change is carried out through the entire project.
- Ability to build out a plan from scratch using PW tables within Product Wizard
- Understanding of indexed products system migrations and conversions
- Consult in all phases of business process implementations from scope analysis to post-implementation evaluation using both Agile and Waterfall approaches.
- Assist with change management user training and technical support for project teams.
- Participate in the process of defining documenting and analyzing customer requirements business processes and procedures.
- Identify research and engage others in the research and resolution of complex customer and product implementation problems.
- Assists with developing the methods and procedures required to identify whether current business goals and objectives meet organizational needs.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelors degree in business administration engineering information systems or related field preferred
- Experience working with the technology industry
