Position Summary
Were looking for an experienced Director of Education Events to plan and oversee the scheduling and administration of the associations education events including instructor-led training webcasts virtual meetings and virtual conference sessions. Youll work in a dynamic nonprofit environment collaborating inter- and cross-departmentally to define and maintain education event standards under the leadership of the Senior Director of Education Programming & Delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the collaboration between Education teams and internal departments to ensure the associations suite of education events operates smoothly including product and system set-up customer experience staff support and execution.
- Plan and oversee annual and on-going education eventsexam crams bootcamps virtual classrooms webcasts and virtual conferencesfrom scheduling through implementation ensuring each event meets requirements goals deadlines and deliverables.
- Develop and lead the direction and tone of relationships with sponsors volunteer committees subject matter experts staff and speakers to ensure education eventsexam crams bootcamps virtual classrooms webcasts and virtual conferencesmeet budget expectations organizational needs member goals and continuing education requirements.
- Define implement and maintain a series of education event dashboards to demonstrate the growth and health of the associations education events.
- In collaboration with sponsors volunteer committees and other internal stakeholders define speaker and instructor requirements and needs necessary to fulfill the annual and on-going education event schedule.
- In collaboration with volunteer committees define topics to support education event programming.
- Serve as a point of escalation to troubleshoot issues respond to inquiries and deliver professional communication and technical support to external customers and internal team members.
- Establish communicate and reinforce standards for education event planning scheduling and delivery including sponsor and speaker guidelines turnaround times and milestone dates and deliverables.
Qualifications
- Skills Requirements: Leadership interpersonal communication presentation and relationship-building skills. Multitasking project management planning organization and client service skills. Analytical critical-thinking judgement and problem-solving skills. Emotional intelligence.
- Knowledge Requirements: Education event planning and management project and people management data analysis and reporting and customer service.
- Technology Requirements: Learning Management Systems Customer Relationship Management systems Zoom Microsoft Office Suite Association Management Systems Content Management Systems Learning Management Systems and Digital Experience Platforms.
- Experience Requirements: 10 years of experience in education management delivery and support client service and project management in a professional environment. Professional association experience a plus.
- Education Requirements: Masters or bachelors degree and equivalent experience.
- Supervisory Requirements: Direct reports include Virtual Events Manager and Education Events Specialist.
- Travel Requirements: Local travel via motor vehicle. Domestic overnight travel.
- Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer both in a home and office environment. Ability to use standard office equipment including computers keyboards phones and printers. Visual acuity to view and analyze information on a computer screen for extended periods. Occasional light lifting (up to 10 lbs) for transporting a laptop or office materials between work locations. Ability to commute to the office as required (i.e. at least 3 days per week). Ability to participate in virtual and in-person meetings presentations or team collaborations.
