Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data and Automation Analyst to join our dynamic global team. This role is critical in supporting our economists in the Pricing & Purchasing team by enhancing the quality efficiency and impact of our client-facing deliverables and internal processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of analytical acumen technical proficiency and a proactive mindset to drive process improvement and automation initiatives. You will be instrumental in transforming raw data into actionable intelligence and optimizing workflows to boost team productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Client Deliverable & Presentation Support
- Assist a global team of industry economists in producing high-quality client deliverables ensuring accuracy timeliness and the generation of actionable insights.
- Support the creation and refinement of compelling presentations using PowerPoint synthesizing complex data and economic narratives for diverse audiences including senior leadership.
- Collaborate with team members to visualize data effectively creating clear and impactful charts graphs and infographics.
Data Modeling & Integrity
- Maintain update and validate complex economic or financial models primarily in Excel ensuring data integrity consistency and robust version control.
- Perform data analysis on large transactional datasets to identify trends anomalies and key performance metrics.
- Develop and implement rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy of data used in all analyses and models.
Automation & Process Optimization
- Identify design and implement automation solutions using Python (e.g. Pandas NumPy) VBA and other tools to streamline data collection processing and reporting.
- Analyze existing business processes identify opportunities for automation and assess the feasibility and potential for new initiatives.
- Develop and manage a portfolio of automation projects from initial concept and design through to deployment training and maintenance.
Analytics Reporting & Insights
- Provide analytical support and insights to enhance the teams productivity decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Design build and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools like Power BI or Tableau to track key metrics and provide self-service analytics to stakeholders.
- Utilize data harvesting data science and advanced analytics skills to transform raw data from various sources into actionable intelligence.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate across global teams to identify areas for process improvement innovation and the adoption of best practices in data analytics and automation.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand their data needs and develop efficient data collection reporting and analysis processes.
- Communicate findings project status and technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications & Skills
Required Qualifications:
- Education:Bachelors degree in a quantitative field such as Economics Finance Computer Science Statistics Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience:1-3 years of relevant experience in a data analysis business intelligence or automation-focused role preferably within financial services consulting or a technology firm.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including complex formulas PivotTables Power Query and VBA for automation.
- Strong programming skills in Python for data manipulation analysis (Pandas NumPy) and automation.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases for data extraction and transformation.
- Analytical Mindset:Strong quantitative analytical and problem-solving skills with impeccable attention to detail.
- Communication:Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BI & Automation Tools:Hands-on experience with BI and automation software such as Power BI Tableau or Alteryx.
- Financial Acumen:Familiarity with economic concepts data sources and modeling techniques.
- Big Data Technologies:Exposure to big data platforms and tools like Hadoop Hive or Spark is a plus.
- Project Management:Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
- Global Collaboration:Experience working effectively with geographically dispersed teams and stakeholders.
