Evaluation Period: Annual performance evaluations if the student works the entire academic year. If the student works one semester the performance evaluation will be completed after that semester
Purpose: To help run a smooth intramural program. Responsible for providing an atmosphere of fun in a competitive yet safe environment. Must be able to implement Intramural Sports policies and playing rules in order to maintain an appropriate level of control fairness and safety. They should maintain a positive attitude on-site and should always be striving to improve their officiating skills.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- officiate recreation events
- Assists with day-to-day operations of the Intramural program which includes but is not limited to: scorekeeper referee timer ball chaser and line judge
- Working knowledge of the rules to all major sports
- Enforce all University facility/program policies rules and regulations
- Maintain all equipment and ensure proper use
- Assist with pre and post-game logistics
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled student at Mount St. Joseph University
- Work Study eligible
- Ability to work on own initiative independently and to deadlines
- Well organized punctual and reliable
- The ability to communicate sensitively and tactfully both orally and in writing with individuals at all levels within the University
- lifting up to 15 lbs.
