Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Feedyard Research Intern to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in feedyard operations while contributing to ongoing research projects. The intern will work closely with our research and operations teams to gather data analyze results and contribute to research studies that aim to improve cattle performance and welfare.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Collection: Assist in collecting data on feed intake animal health growth performance and other key metrics.
Research Support: Participate in the design execution and monitoring of feedyard research trials.
Data Analysis: Analyze collected data using statistical software generating reports that summarize findings.
Reporting: Prepare and present research findings to the management team and contribute to the drafting of research papers.
Operational Assistance: Support daily feedyard operations including feeding monitoring cattle health and maintaining accurate records.
Compliance: Ensure all research activities comply with company protocols and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a degree in Animal Science Agricultural Science Veterinary Medicine or a related field.
Strong interest in livestock management and research.
Basic understanding of statistical methods and data analysis.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint).
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work in a feedyard environment and handle livestock.
2.5 GPA or higher
