Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Hospice Chaplain to join our care team serving patients and families in Kitsap County. As a Hospice Chaplain you will play a vital role on our interdisciplinary team helping patients and families explore meaning purpose and inner peace during lifes final chapter. This role includes supporting loved ones as they navigate anticipatory grief and loss ensuring all care honors the beliefs values and cultural backgrounds of those we serve.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide spiritual and emotional support to hospice patients and families based on their individual beliefs and preferences.
- Conduct spiritual assessments and participate in interdisciplinary care planning.
- Facilitate or coordinate end-of-life rituals prayers sacraments and memorial services.
- Support patients and families through grief loss and end-of-life transitions.
- Collaborate with community clergy or faith leaders as needed.
- Offer crisis intervention and spiritual care during emergencies or emotionally difficult times.
- Support staff with spiritual guidance and coping strategies.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in compliance with hospice regulations.
- Stay current with best practices in hospice chaplaincy palliative spiritual care and relevant professional development.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Divinity Theology or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) or equivalent certification from a recognized chaplaincy organization
- Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) required.
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Prior experience in hospice palliative care or related healthcare setting is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of end-of-life care and grief.
- Ability to support individuals from diverse spiritual religious and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and standard healthcare technologies.

Compensation
- Pay Rate:$32.00 - $38.00/hour depending on experience
