Two years successful post high school education.
EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
At least one year of work experience in a position requiring interpersonal interaction skills and knowledge of strategies to support students with challenging behaviors.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires hearing hand-eye coordination mind-eye coordination keyboarding and telephoning. Frequent bending twisting and floor to standing.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Regular reliable attendance. Experience with behavior management. Knowledge of strategies to manage behavior. Ability to use a computer for word processing and data entry. Ability to maintain confidential information. Regular contact with students with emotional cognitive and/or conduct-related disorders. Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training preferred. Discrete Trial training preferred.
COMPREHENSIVE BACKGROUND CHECK:
Candidates are required to complete a comprehensive background check including a state and FBI criminal history check with fingerprinting a sex offender registry check and a child abuse and neglect registry check. All components must be completed prior to the start of employment and repeated every five years thereafter.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
- Support students in the general classroom and alternative learning settings to manage behaviors and support learning.
- Establishes a positive rapport with students co-workers and parents which conveys enthusiasm and caring.
- Works cooperatively with team members to outline a behavior plan and evaluate the plans appropriateness and need for modifications. Demonstrates knowledge of behavioral strategies.
- Works with individual students in 1:1 and small group settings to reinforce behavioral goals/objectives outlined by the problem-solving team.
- Document student progress on behavior and goals.
- Conducts observations and collects classroom teacher documentation needed for referral and reintegration procedures.
- Works collaboratively with district staff and families to create supportive inclusive and respectful learning environments for all students particularly students who exhibit challenging behaviors.
- Participates in the implementation and revision of student behavior programs.
- Supervises student activities when needed.
- Participates in professional development as required and when requested by the District.
- Supports personal cares of students (washing hands bath rooming eating etc.)
- May be assigned to more than one school by supervisors.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.

PAY INFORMATION
Starting at $23.23 per hour
Pay Day: Last working day of each month.
HOURS & FTE
Monday through Thursday7:45 am to 4:15 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
Some Fridays required - see calendar for details.
0.8 FTE 32 hours per week9 months
