Residential Maintenance Technician - Skilled Handyman
Position Summary:
Assist in the construction repair and maintenance of all properties as needed. Job duties include but are not limited to rough and finish carpentry minor plumbing/electrical drywall & plaster repair painting irrigation repair trenching and cleanup.
Client seeking skilled and experienced maintenance technician to support high-end private residences primarily located in Rancho Santa Fe Del Mar La Jolla and Point Loma.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in luxury residential settings be fluent in English (Spanish is a plus) and possess strong interpersonal skills. Were looking for someone who is interested in a long-term position works well as part of a team and has basic computer proficiency for tasks such as email communication.
Job requirements
1. Duties and Responsibilities:
Miscellaneous carpentry tasks from rough to finish trim work- including door window and cabinet adjustment and repair.
Work with materials such as wood plastic drywall insulation stucco concrete etc.
Proper use of pneumatic electric and hand tools to complete project with the highest quality and efficiency
Proper use of fasteners and or adhesives to join various materials.
Use levels rules plumb bobs framing squares and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure.
Ability to erect safe scaffolding shoring temporary construction structures.
Basic water intrusion remediation skills- dismantle dehumidify/aerate repair and replace.
Maintain a positive relationship with Homeowner Real Estate Project Manager Estate Manager and other employees.
Maintain acute awareness of job site safety and require safe work practices. Identify and immediately rectify job site hazards and potential hazards.
Install and patch drywall and plaster.
Perform minor demolition of structure concrete asphalt with jackhammers breakers etc.
Maintain a clean uncluttered construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
Control traffic passing near in and around work zones.
Trenching and minor excavations using picks shovels rakes- properly compacting backfill level to grade/density specifications.
Interior and exterior painting utilizing the proper brushes rollers and caulking.
Assist all subcontractors such as carpenters plasterers painters masons etc. with particular attention dust containment and scheduling disturbing tasks conscientiously!
Mix ingredients to create compounds for covering or cleaning surfaces.
2. Requirements Skills & Experience:
Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
Must address tasks at multiple local locations often daily as well as some occasional scheduled interstate projects.
Must possess good interpersonal and electronic communication skills with coworkers vendors subcontractors and clients.
A strong work ethic and self-starter
An ability to work and resolve problems cooperatively and independently.
Must pass toxicology and background checks.
Must have necessary tools equipment to perform basic home maintenance with the knowledge and ability to operate them safely.
Must have two years high-end residential construction experience.
Must be comfortable and able to work on roofs ladders scaffolding elevated structures as well as navigating confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces.
Working Hours
Typical work week is 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday thru Friday. Some overtime and weekend work may be required as needed.
