Scholarship Specialist Financial Aid

Job Description

A Scholarship Specialist in Financial Aid assists with tasks related to scholarship applications processes and awards. This position is a specialized support role for financial aid; a successful candidate will have the ability to interpret student needs provide individualized service and have effective written and verbal communication addition the ideal candidate has basic office accounting and computer skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or four years of experience in lieu of degree
  • One year of professional experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree or six years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • Experience working in higher education accounting or bookkeeping
  • Strong written and oral communication skills as demonstrated through a cover letter
  • Demonstrated ability to work on team projects
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel or related software

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate scholarship programs as assigned by the Assistant Director
  • Assist in the development and implementation of scholarship policies and procedures
  • Serve as a scholarship liaison to other university entities and individuals
  • Identify and leverage system capabilities and technologies to ensure an efficient scholarship application cycle
  • Participate in Financial Aid software management data entry word processing and file management
  • Assist during recruitment and public education activities throughout the year
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned
  • Serve on University committees

Priority Deadline: Screening of applications will begin September 9 2025 and continue until the position is filled.

Salary: $17 per hour
