About the role

TheTechnical Officer Nursingrole supports the delivery of educational services related to nursing through setting up practical classroom demonstrations and activities. The role will also be required to ensure the maintenance of equipment purchasing preparation and distribution of teaching resources and other related administrative functions.

Reporting to the Staffing Pool Coordinator this position:

  • Provides students and staff with appropriate equipment and resource materials as required
  • Creates asafe and effective teaching environmentthrough the effective management of equipment stores and workspaces to meetWork Health and Safetyand currentindustryrequirements
  • Assists in the purchase and ordering of plant equipment and consumables
  • Providesadministrative supportto the teaching section to ensure accurate record keeping financial reporting and the efficient functioning of the teaching section
  • Maintains current knowledge ofprofessional practicesand requirements through contact withindustry stakeholdersprofessional publicationsandregular communicationwith section staff
  • Assists withquality assuranceand continuous improvement processes to provideconsistencyandbest practice.

Essential Requirements

  • A valid Working with Children Check (required prior to commencement)
  • Current registration as Registered Nurse or are an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current nursing practice including the use of appropriate equipment in nursing procedures medical terminology and infection control principles
  • Demonstrated experience in administration including inventory management purchase and maintenance of equipment and basic financial recording
  • The ability to address and meet focus capabilities as stated in the Position Description.
