Description

Job Summary:

The Manager of Service Line Imaging Operations plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality efficient imaging services across multiple locations and modalities (e.g. XR US CT MR NM Breast Imaging IR vascular ultrasound echocardiology). Reporting to the Director of Radiology Operations or the Director of Operations for the respective service line this role provides operational leadership staff oversight and system-level coordination to deliver safe compliant and patient-centered imaging services. Primary duties and responsibilities: Operational Oversight & Workflow Management: 1. Plan organize and manage daily operations across the assigned imaging modality and locations. 2. Oversee staff scheduling work distribution and patient flow to support consistent service delivery. 3. Identify and implement opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and patient experience. 4. Troubleshoot operational or technical issues and coordinate timely resolution to avoid disruptions Staff Leadership & Development 1. Supervise modality staff including technologists nurses and support personnel. 2. Ensure proper staffing levels and manage team assignments across locations. 3. Conduct orientation for new hires and ensure they are trained to perform safely and competently. 4. Provide ongoing coaching feedback and performance evaluations to support staff growth. 5. Address performance or conduct issues in alignment with HR policies and department expectations. Quality Compliance & Accreditation 1. Establish and maintain departmental policies procedures and protocols that meet regulatory standards. 2. Ensure continuous compliance with accreditation requirements from organizations such as TJC ACR or IAC. 3. Monitor safety protocols infection control practices and documentation compliance. 4. Lead quality assurance efforts and ensure consistency in imaging accuracy and patient care. Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement 1. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for productivity quality safety and patient satisfaction. 2. Conduct routine performance reviews and identify improvement opportunities. 3. Develop and implement plans to address deficiencies or optimize services. 4. Use data and staff input to support ongoing improvement initiatives and sustain results. Resource & Budget Management 1. Monitor use of equipment supplies and staff resources for cost-effectiveness. 2. Assist in annual budgeting and financial planning efforts. 3. Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or safety. 4. Support equipment maintenance service contracts and capital planning as needed. Communication & Collaboration 1. Facilitate regular staff meetings and maintain open lines of communication across shifts and sites. 2. Collaborate with physicians administrative leaders and peer managers to align operational priorities. 3. Engage staff in shared decision-making and maintain a culture of teamwork. 4. Communicate policy updates departmental goals and organizational changes clearly and consistently. Patient Experience & Service Excellence 1. Monitor and respond to patient satisfaction data and feedback. 2. Address patient concerns or complaints in a timely and empathetic manner. 3. Lead service initiatives to enhance patient comfort education and overall experience. 4. Promote a patient-centered culture focused on safety courtesy and quality. Policy & Procedure Development 1. Contribute to the creation and refinement of departmental procedures and operational standards. 2. Ensure policies reflect regulatory requirements system-wide goals and best practices. 3. Maintain documentation that supports consistency and compliance across all operational sites. 4. Participate in initiatives that align departmental policy with enterprise strategy. Travel: May need to travel between operating units and/or Emory affiliated locations Work Type: Hybrid employee - splits time between working remotely and working in the office.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Education - High school diploma or equivalent Experience - 2 years minimum supervisory experience with at least 5 years in hospital imaging services OR bachelors degree and three years business experience.

Certification - Basic Life Support (BLS)

Knowledge skills and abilities (required): 1. The ideal candidate brings a clinical background in radiology strong leadership capabilities and experience in managing operations across complex healthcare environments. They demonstrate: 2. Operational knowledge of imaging modalities and workflows. 3. Proven success in leading teams and improving performance. 4. Commitment to regulatory compliance quality assurance and patient-centered care. 5. Effective communication collaboration and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications Education - Bachelor-s degree in related field Experience - 7 years minimum experience with at least 5 years in a management position

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking Occasional sitting Close eye work (computers typing reading writing) Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks

Environmental exposures include but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock Floor Surfaces Hot/Cold Temperatures Indoor/Outdoor conditions Latex Lighting Patient care/handling injuries Radiation Shift work Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment including respirators environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
