Job Summary

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Merthyr Tydfil to assist with the appointment of a Lifeline Control Room Operator on a 4.5-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Hours per week: 18.50

Rate of Pay: 13.26 - 16.84 per hour

Responsibilities:

Staff the Lifeline and Emergency Planning Control Room on a rota basis.
Receive and action calls via landline PNC fax and other communication networks ensuring each is dealt with appropriately.
Provide guidance and reassurance to service users next of kin scheme managers and nominated contacts.
Monitor and respond to Lifeline Telecare and alarm systems.
Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with Data Protection requirements.

Essential Requirements:

Minimum 3 GCSEs (A*E) or equivalent experience.
Completion of a 10-hour online Welsh Work course.
Experience using telephone systems and IT systems to engage with customers.
Knowledge and understanding of the Data Protection Act.
Ability to work unsupervised and prioritise tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to work alone and cover a flexible rota (including nights weekends and bank holidays).

This role requires a Basic DBS
