Job Description
Registered Nurse (RN) Medical PCU Charge RN Full-time Nights
Were looking for a qualified Registered Nurse like you to join our department in a Charge Nurse role
Work location:Texas Health Fort Worth 1304 Pennsylvania Ave Fort Worth TX 76104
Work hours: Full-time Night shift
Department highlights:
- 28-bed Medical IMCU
- Intermediate level of care to a wide variety of medical patients at a 3:1 patient to nurse ratio.
- This patient population requiring specialized monitoring and interventions includes patient diagnosis such as: diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) respiratory compromised patients that require specialized equipment including continuous respiratory interventions home ventilation systems and tracheostomy care multi-system organ failure respiratory distress sepsis hematology GI Bleeds Renal/Liver Failure Acid-Base and Electrolyte Imbalances and cardiac abnormalities.
- Medication management includes continuous and titratable IV medications to support the intermediate care population.

Heres what you need
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
- BCLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
- ACLS within 90 days of hire - expiration date greater than 3 months preferred
- CPI Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire
- 1-year experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting required
- 2-years experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting preferred
- Current PCU experience strongly preferred
In addition to the required qualifications a successful RN will
- demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality positive interpersonal skills and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
- maintain a positive customer-focused attitude toward patients
- possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
- have basic computer skills using medical management application systems

communicate and collaborate with all members of the health care team

evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units and shift by offering staff guidance and support maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed.
