Description

Great water starts with great people. As our next People Team Supervisor youll help shape the employee experience for those who keep our community safe and our rivers healthy. This role is about more than HR its about ensuring our workforce feels valued supported and empowered to do the essential work that protects our rivers and sustains our communities.

The ideal candidate for this role is a responsible detail-oriented and kind HR professional who also brings forward-thinking ideas and a data-driven approach.

What youll do

  • Leadership & Supervision: Guide and support People Team staff through supervision mentorship and performance management. Assign work set priorities and foster accountability while encouraging growth and development.
  • Employee Relations & Engagement: Work with leaders and all staff to create and maintain a productive supportive and positive work environment. Provide coaching conflict resolution and investigations with empathy and fairness.
  • Programs & Processes: Oversee HR programs and functions including recruitment onboarding training benefits leave management payroll HRIS performance management and compliance. Ensure policies and practices are legally sound equitable and aligned with our mission.
  • Training & Development: Design and facilitate trainings to support ethical leadership compliance with employment law and a culture of respect and growth.
  • Data & Improvement: Use HRIS and people analytics to track trends improve processes and recommend forward-thinking solutions that strengthen the employee experience and organizational effectiveness.
  • Community Stewardship: Support a workplace that reflects our mission of public service and environmental stewardship by aligning people practices with community values.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration Organizational Development or a related field OR equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of HR/people operations experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Knowledge of employment law regulations and best practices in HR including employee relations performance management training and benefits administration.
  • Certification: SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred (or ability to obtain within one year). OD or ATD certification a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: professional confidential empathetic and approachable with the ability to develop trust and navigate sensitive issues.
  • Forward-thinking data-driven mindset with experience using HRIS and people analytics to guide decision-making. PowerBI experience a plus.
  • Must obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within the first six (6) months of employment.

The Schedule:

This position works MondayFriday regular business hours with occasional evening or weekend work for trainings emergencies or community events. Hybrid work opportunities may be available.

Pay Range:

Starting range depends on qualifications but generally falls within the minimum and midpoint of the pay range. The pay range for this role is $97718.40 - $146558.80.
