Senior Telecommunications Engineer
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepare Requirements for the Communications System (Fiber optic Microwave etc.).
Prepare Design Specifications and Drawings for Communications System.
Prepare Bill of Material and Cost Estimate.
Prepare Request for Proposals (RFPs).
Evaluate Bids (Technical and Cost Proposals).
Provide Recommendations for Vendor Selection.
Review Project Implementation Plans.
Review Design Documents.
Review Test Plans and Test Procedures.
Participate in Factory and System Acceptance Tests.
Review Design Change Notice and Change Order Requested by Contractor and Provide Recommendations.
Provide Project Management Support for Implementation.
Engineering involving preparation of plans technical specifications detail drawings for VHF/UHF RF digital communication systems radio systems OPGW/ADSS fiber optic cable systems AC/DC power systems communication cable distribution methods and pathways; design of telephone (analog and digital) CCTV Public Address Intercom broadband communication and networks security systems; knowledge of 4G LTE or 5G system and SDR (Software Defined Radio).
Project management including scheduling and budget management.
Strategic telecommunication system master planning.
Performing telecommunication network studies and reports.
Proposal development and engineering cost estimating.
Procurement of communications systems equipment and services; circuit provisioning for relay protection DTT and SCADA RTUs.
Qualifications & Skills:
10 Years experience in design and implementation of Telecom Networks (Fiber Microwave and Wireless Systems).
Bachelors degree in Telecommunications Electrical or Electronic Engineering. Masters degree is preferred.
License: Valid Registration as a Professional Engineer (Telecommunications or Electrical) in the State of California
Professional Certification: BICSI RCDD FOA Certification (CFOT CPCT CFOS/x) CTNS or iNARTE are desired.
Intermediate-level AutoCAD proficiency is desirable.
Experience with freight commuter and Metro rail is highly desirable.
