Job Summary

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Operations Specialist to provide maternity leave coverage on a temporary basis. This role is critical in maintaining smooth day-to-day HR operations with responsibilities ranging from HRIS data management to employee support. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience with Paycom advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills and a customer-service mindset to support employees and managers effectively during this coverage period. This role will also be providing some executive support to the SVP of People and Culture. This can be a remote position.

Key Responsibilities

HRIS & Payroll (Paycom)

  • Maintain and update employee records in Paycom ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Support leave processing benefits enrolment and time/attendance tracking within Paycom.
  • Run reports and analyze HR/payroll data as requested by HR leadership.

HR Customer Service

  • Act as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to basic payroll benefits leave and HR policies.
  • Provide timely professional and solutions-focused responses to employee requests.
  • Escalate complex issues appropriately while maintaining confidentiality and compliance.

Data & Reporting

  • Prepare and analyse workforce reports using Excel (pivot tables VLOOKUPs charts dashboards).
  • Support compliance audits and provide metrics for leadership (headcount turnover leave balances).

Presentations & Communication

  • Develop PowerPoint and Google presentations for HR updates leadership briefings and training.
  • Translate HR data into visually clear and executive-ready materials.
  • Ability to use or learn how to use Canvas to create/update existing materials

General HR Operations

  • Assist with onboarding and off-boarding logistics.
  • Support ongoing HR projects such as employee engagement initiatives and policy updates.
  • Ensure seamless handoff and knowledge transfer at the end of the contract.
  • Must be comfortable in Google Microsoft and Mac environments
  • Be able to provide executive support
  • HR emails

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in HR Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • 2 4 years of HR operations/HR administration experience (or equivalent).
  • Hands-on experience with Paycom required (HRIS payroll reporting).
  • Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables formulas data analysis) and PowerPoint (professional presentations).
  • Demonstrated experience providing excellent HR customer service to employees and managers.
  • Strong organisational skills attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay Range: $25 - $35 depending on experience.
