The Challenge:
Our Client is seeking a ServiceNow Developer to support and optimize their IT Operations Management environment. This role will focus heavily on CMDB design discovery integrations automation event management and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have deep ServiceNow expertise and a passion for maintaining accurate service-aware data to drive IT efficiency and decision-making.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. CMDB Design & Maintenance
Design develop and maintain a scalable CMDB aligned with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
Ensure accurate representation of all Configuration Items (CIs) and their relationships.
Implement governance policies to maintain data integrity and compliance.
2. Discovery & Integration
Configure and optimize ServiceNow Discovery to automatically detect and populate CIs.
Integrate with SCCM Intune Tenable and other authoritative data sources.
Manage Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE) rules to prevent duplicates and ensure data accuracy.
3. Data Quality & Governance
Conduct regular audits to validate CMDB accuracy.
Remove stale orphaned or duplicate CIs.
Define and enforce naming conventions and change control processes.
4. Reporting & Dashboards
Monitor CMDB health scores discovery completeness and service mapping accuracy.
Utilize Health Scan and CMDB Query Builder to identify gaps and improve quality.
Build interactive dashboards and reports to track CMDB health and performance metrics.
5. Collaboration & Training
Partner with ITSM ITOM Security Compliance and Architecture teams.
Provide training and best practices to ensure alignment with CMDB standards.
6. Strategic Planning
Develop a roadmap to evolve the CMDB into a fully service-aware database.
Support IT decision-making risk management and operational efficiency initiatives.
7. Automation & Orchestration
Implement and maintain automated workflows using Flow Designer Orchestration and IntegrationHub.
Create and manage automation policies for event remediation and service health.
8. Monitoring & Event Management
Configure and fine-tune Event Management to correlate alerts and reduce noise.
Integrate with monitoring tools like SolarWinds Dynatrace and SCOM to enhance event data.
9. Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
Maintain detailed documentation of configurations integrations and workflows.
Create knowledge base articles or internal wikis for repeatable processes and troubleshooting.
