Job Description
Carl Zeiss Vision Inc. has an opening for a Sr. Regional Environmental Health & Safety Engineer in Hebron KY. 40 hours/week.
DUTIES: Provide broad-based support for all key Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) activities and initiatives. This includes EHS Systems continuous improvement projects EHS auditing and compliance with all Regional & Global procedures. Implement and maintain company policies adhering to local state and federal environmental health and safety regulations. Establish and provide a regulatory training program on OSHA (29 CFR 511 GI and others) and EPA (40 CFR CWA CAA RCRA Stormwater) for all levels in the U.S. organization. Interface with all departments to implement GSR environmental health and safety policies regulations and programs based on Zeiss global directive federal or local guidelines and requirements based on OSHA (29 CFR 511 GI and others) and EPA (40 CFR CWA CAA RCRA Stormwater). Support active reduction of waste streams and incident within the regional organization. Develop & implement KPIs for review of regulatory performance based on Zeiss global requirements. Support in the facilities expansions work areas and work procedures and make environmental health and safety recommendations accordingly. Develop & implement safety procedures for contractors. Responsible for preparing maintaining and updating environmental policy and procedure manuals. Responsible for performing Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and risk assessment report. Ensure compliance with all environmental health and safety regulations and keep abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Primary contact with all EHS federal state and local regulatory bodies. Conduct EHS audits and inspect workplace. Conduct JHA and support operations on mitigating potential risks. Up to 5% domestic travel.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or foreign equivalent. 6 years of experience in job offered or as an Operations Manager Environmental Health & Safety Manager Environmental Health & Safety Engineer Process Quality Engineer Quality System Engineer in a regulated industry or related role.
ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering or related field. 4 years of experience in job offered or as a Process Quality Engineer Quality System Engineer in a regulated industry or related role.
