Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant with 3-5 years of experience in accounting and finance to join our this role you will be responsible for day-to-day accounting operations ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial statements and supporting various financial reporting activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general ledger management month-end and year-end close processes and financial analysis with a keen ability to improve efficiency in accounting operations.

This is a full-time hybrid position working from our Toronto office.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manage and maintain the general ledger ensuring the accurate recording of financial transactions and account reconciliations.

Actively participate in the month-end quarter-end and year-end closing process sales commission calculation and deferred revenue calculation ensuring that all journal entries accruals and financial transactions are processed timely and accurately.

Suggest enhancements to internal controls streamlining accounting procedures and improving operational efficiency.

Assist with internal and external audits by preparing supporting documentation and schedules.

Reconciliation of accounts ensuring discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.

Ad hoc reporting tasks and other projects as needed.

Knowledge & Educational Requirements:

Bachelors degree in accounting required (CPA is desirable).

Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in accounting with a solid understanding of financial reporting general ledger operations and month-end closing processes.

Advanced proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data.

Proven ability to work independently and efficiently managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in the Manufacturing and/or Technology industry desirable.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
