Role & Responsibilities
The Electrical Engineer role at EMS-Tech Inc. is a unique opportunity to be part of a global multidisciplinary team working on groundbreaking projects in the bulk material handling industry. Youll be working on massive high-impact machines and conveyor systems while sharpening your skills in CAD drafting PLC programming and advanced electrical design.

Youll also have the opportunity to travel to global project sites gaining hands-on experience with some of the massive machines youll help design while delivering cutting-edge solutions around the world. Here are some of the things youll be working on:
- Design electrical systems and specify electrical components for complex projects to satisfy project requirements and industry standards
- Participate in the establishment of task scope design concept specifications schedules and budgeted hours.
- Produce technical deliverables related to EMS-Tech Inc. equipment systems and methods to advance projects.
- Ability to size/select electrical components such as transformers switchgear cables motor control centers motors control components etc.
- Demonstrate programming skills using PLC programming (various languages) software and HMI development software (various languages) and VFD drive parameter setting field device programming etc.
- Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills both remotely and in construction/testing and operating environments
- Implement CAD 2-D drafting skills using programs such as AutoCAD Electrical. Produce drawings to EMS-Tech Inc. standards and develop an understanding of drawing presentation.
- Understand fundamentals and develop expertise related to recognized standard such as NEC IEEE IEC ABS Lloyds DNV etc.
- Implement analytical skills using spreadsheet programs such as Excel
- Verify the accuracy of drawings prepared by other team members. Act as mentor for junior personnel working in a related capacity.
- Communicate effectively and accurately with suppliers and other design team members in both oral and written formats on technical matters as agreed upon with project engineer.
- Visit production facilities to inspect the construction and installation of electrical systems and panels ensuring adherence to design specifications
- Visit marine and land based operating sites globally for testing training inspection and troubleshooting of power and control systems.
- Prepare reports for component and equipment inspections.
- Collaborate with various disciplines to ensure project success and contribute to problem-solving efforts as needed
- Travel globally to project sites
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering science or equivalent with five years of experience preferably in the bulk material handling maritime offshore or industrial sectors.
- Proficiency in CAD drafting of power and control schematics using tools such as AutoCAD or EPLAN with experience producing drawings to company or industry standards.
- Proficient in spreadsheet programs like Excel for calculations tracking or data analysis.
- Understanding of standards such as NEC IEEE IEC ABS Lloyds DNV etc.
- Ability to verify the accuracy of drawings ensuring precision in layout and design details is considered an asset.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with suppliers and design team members.
- Fluent in English language

- 8years experience with Design or automation
- Fluent in Dutch language
