Position Highlights

Spencer Hospital is a rural hospitallocated in northwest Iowa employing over 500 employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers if accepted are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.

Summary:

The Clinic Evaluation Nurse is responsible for providing direct and indirect physical psychosocial and spiritual care for patients with cancer and other related disease processes
The oncology nurse will also act as the patients advocate and educator
Performs and documents initial and routine assessments and evaluations on oncology patients
A resource to patients and families and directs them to the appropriate support services
Performs the skills required to care for oncology patients receiving chemotherapy
Provides coordination of services across the continuum of care.
Attends/engages in continued education opportunities related to oncology care annually

Requirements:

IA RN or PN license (or compact state)
Minimum of 1 year nursing experience
Oncology Certification (OCN) is preferred but not mandatory
Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Certification required prior to completion of orientation/chemo administration

Schedule:

63 hrs a pay period
M-F
7:30a-5p
The schedule may fluctuate based upon needs of the department
