Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician/Engineer to join a well-established business operating within a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a growing team and play a key role in ensuring site equipment runs safely efficiently and reliably.
Duties
- Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance on a range of equipment to minimise downtime.
- Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical faults ensuring safe and efficient resolutions.
- Working independently and taking accountability for the condition and reliability of production equipment.
- Accurately recording all downtime events repairs and maintenance activities.
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity safety and equipment performance.
- Collaborating with colleagues across maintenance and operations to ensure smooth handovers and clear communication.
- Escalating issues when necessary to ensure swift resolution.
The Candidate
- Engineering qualification Electrical or Mechanical (C&G NVQ Level 3 ONC or equivalent).
- Solid hands-on experience in maintenance and fault finding within an automated or FMCG environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems including motors bearings pneumatics sensors and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
- Comfortable working in a high-pressure production environment.
Desirable:
- Additional qualifications such as HNC IOSH NEBOSH or HACCP.
- PLC knowledge and experience with inverters/servo motors.
- Welding or fabrication skills.
