If you enjoy working with seniors this could be the perfect role for you! Chicago Commons is seeking a Driver/ Activity Aide this role is a duo position that will be supporting our seniors and our Adult Day Services team.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Site Manager of Adult day services and the Office Manager this position will be responsible for driving a minibus van or lightweight vehicle to transport clients or participants with disabilities. This role will play a dual role in this department as will be a part-time Activity Aide this function will mainly provide support in the care and administrating of daily cognitive and stimulating activities for the clients in the Adult Day Services department.

Chicago Commons provides services that help seniors and adults with disabilities maintain their independence and quality of life while remaining in their homes. Our Adult Day Service (ADS) program provides a professional care setting in which seniors and adults with disabilities are transported to our center to receive individualized care in a community-based group Adult Day Service center is located in Bronzeville and provides daily onsite care for seniors and adults with disabilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
These include but are not limited to the following. (The company reserves the right to add to delete change or modify the essential duties and responsibilities at any time).
Arrange for vehicle repair with the assistance of the ADS Manager. Follow established schedules; adjusts schedules to meet unanticipated changes; determine the safest and most efficient pick-up and delivery routes and other destinations according to schedule.
Responsibilities:
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge skill and/or ability required.
Valid Illinois Drivers License.
5 years of experience working with seniors or adults with disabilities.
5-years years of driving experience.
EDUCATION:
WORKING CONDITIONS:
There are no unusual environmental conditions other than inclement weather and inappropriate driving of other vehicles.
