Position Summary:
The NOC Shift Caregiver is responsible for ensuring the safety comfort and well being of residents during overnight hours in both the Assisted Living (AL) and Memory Care units. This role focuses on monitoring assisting with needs that arise overnight and providing a supportive environment while promoting dignity and respect for all residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond promptly to call lights and resident needs during the night.
Monitor residents with regular safety checks including those at risk of falls or wandering.
Support residents experiencing confusion anxiety or restlessness using calm and person-centered care techniques.
Assist with toileting incontinence care and mobility transfers as needed.
Provide companionship and reassurance to residents during nighttime hours.
Document care provided observations and any incidents per policy.
Complete light housekeeping laundry and meal/snack preparation as needed.
Communicate effectively with day-shift staff nurses and supervisors through detailed shift reports.
Follow infection control HIPAA and safety procedures consistently.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous caregiving or healthcare experience preferred; Memory Care/Dementia experience highly valued.
CNA certification (if required by state) or completion of caregiver training program.
Ability to work independently and remain attentive throughout overnight hours.
Strong communication observation and documentation skills.
Compassionate patient and reliable with a commitment to quality care.
Work Schedule:
Overnight (NOC) shifts including weekends and holidays as scheduled.
