Job Description Summary
In alignment with the Student Affairs Learning Outcomes the Panther Pantry provides Chapman University students faculty and staff with supplemental food and hygiene resources in times of need. Panther Pantry Assistants play an important role in supporting the Universitys commitment to student well-being and basic needs security.
Responsibilities
Provide a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for pantry users. Verify access eligibility upon check-in according to established guidelines. Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate respect for pantry users at all times. Refer students to additional campus and community resources as appropriate. Uphold food safety standards and ensure compliance with pantry procedures. Stock pantry shelves and maintain the organization of pantry storage areas. Track inventory in PantrySoft as items are distributed in-person or via online orders. Assemble online pantry orders accurately and efficiently. Assist with the receipt and storage of Second Harvest Food Bank deliveries. Serve as a liaison between the Dean of Students Office and pantry users. Support Dean of Students Office events and initiatives as needed. Assist with other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Ability to work all assigned shifts during pantry operating hours. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to empathize perspective-take and show acceptance of diverse students. Ability to work effectively with frequent interruptions. Effective written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to establish rapport with other students. Ability to take initiative and work independently. Proficiency in using standard office equipment including computer copier and iPad. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to climb ladders and stepstools safely. Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 .
