Building Standards & Public Safety is looking for a Team Manager to lead their verification and building warrant enforcement team. The team of 15 case officers and 2 Lead Professionals processes over 3000 building warrant applications a year from minor applications to large/complex non-domestic buildings.
Working with the Service Manager responsibilities include overseeing all the performance and processes of the Building Standards team to ensure service delivery meets the requirements of the Operating & Performance Frameworks. You will be line manager for all of the case officers in the team and also collaborate with other Teams & Services across the Council. Building Standards & Public Safety is part of Protective Services and within the Place Directorate. Protective Services includes a wide range of statutory and advisory services designed to protect public health and consumer safety through Environmental Health Trading Standards and Building Standards functions.
The Person

You will be required to participate in the out of hours service on a rotational basis including weekends and occasional public holiday periods to respond to dangerous building incidents.
